Yeah, but on turn 4 you will

Yeah, but on turn 4 you will usually have enough stuff to play for 3 or 2 mana. That one open blue mana does not really hurt.

    Thanks alot for explaining

Thanks alot for explaining both Spell Pierce and wishing me luck!

I also got a message that the picture of the opening hand against Pham has Ancient Ziggurat. I must have mixed that one up with one of the many other opening hands i've stored. Allies draws are so similar.

    My bad !

    I like choices A and B but

I like choices A and B but I'm not sure about C as a lot of people dont play each week. Its a good idea but some players may not see it through or be able to afford the choice in tribe.

    Spell Pierce and Allies

Allies can usually throw up 3-4 creatures by turn 4, when other control decks are getting their 4th land drop to show a Day of Judgment. Spell Pierce just ruins that turn for them in which case you can swing for the fences next turn GG.

Though I have found most situations Spell Pierce is awful late game. If you ally deck is consistently winning under Turn 6...Spell Pierce is well worth the inclusion to protect your allies.

Good luck @ the 5K Belgian event with Allies Rayjinn.

    You missed Miren, the MOANING

You missed Miren, the MOANING WELL in your silliest epithet contest! I would take strangely perverted lands over indecisive guys any time.

    Lapse

If you are so afraid of Day of Judgment, how about keeping the original Naya Allies, but play Lapse of Certainty in the board?
This way, you keep Bloodbraid and all the good stuff that makes the deck work. And you also have a way to keep from getting blown out. I know holding back mana each turn isn't what allies wants to do, but at a certain point you'll have everything you need to win without dropping more guys. Lapse will give you the extra turn to make sure you push through for the win.

    endless_nameless

I think no spells, or mono coloured could work because it's cheap. Forcing some other themes could get quite expensive and limit the player base. Just some food for thought.

I take my hat off to Flippers

I take my hat off to Flippers for fulfilling the challenge, and I invite him to lay down the gauntlet in turn. I have every single playable tribe ready except Dreadnought, So do your worst.

As for the three options, I like the look of all of them, provided for the first and second people are made aware ahead of time. I love building to a theme, and my only caveat on the flip challenge is potential expense. I like the proposed stipulation, but even with that, some people only have one or two tribal decks.

Red Cliff is actually only a part of the whole Romance of the Three Kingdoms Epic. I mean, how epic must it be if you can make a 5 hour John Woo movie out of a small part of it?

    Good listing for those who

Good listing for those who are not familiar with this preperation.

I think the one exclusion would be exercise - for me, even my thinking/mood improves with just a tiny bit of physical effort...perhaps a 5 min Jumprope session while focusing on your deck, THEN shower, so as to not smell like "most" magic players! Good stuff~

I know! I can't wait to see it. I missed it in theaters (if it ever came) and our library hasn't got the DVD yet. I might just have to buy it.
