I'm just sharing my belief of what card is going to have its value explode. There's nothing stopping anyone else from buying the same card right now, I really just cannot comprehend what people seem to have against speculation on the future value of a currently non-valuable commodity.
the GB spirit deck looks crazy funny to play, cant wait to give it a shot, always appreciate the deck building skills, but I'm not sure the first deck fits, its a cool idea, I've seen the one work and know it can work well, but for an article about Mortal Combat it seems an odd addition to have a deck that doesnt even have mortal combat
So Exodus has an EV that's higher than store price. If you have a pack, you make money just by ripping it open and selling the contents. Interesting.
Correct my memory, but didn't a certain dealer we know and love decide to publicly bow out of purchasing Exodus packs when they came out? ;) (Which may somewhat be causal - reduced supply lending to higher prices.)
In storm it means cutting one color out, and makes it more stable. I think it could be about turn faster, but it may be a false impression. Also means you can side in combo protection, and play some normal lands and it can be more resistant in games after sideboard.
In TE it allows you to win quickly. Often playing this deck with control I had problem with forcing my creatures attack. This helps to win before they get the board under control. Also now looking at this list I would change 2 Scroungers for 2 Krosan Tuskers - a must in card in this deck, also worth exhuming.
The haste option is really good. It speeds up the combo by one turn.
I don't know if I'm exempt from a prize since I work for this site, but here's my submission.
It's for vanguard, using the Sisters of Stone Death avatar. The key concept is the line in the avatar that says "creatures you control must be blocked if able." So, Drelnoch is getting blocked every turn. And if he's about to die to a larger blocker, just activate the avatar's 4 mana ability before damage is dealt.
The rest of the deck involves...
- other cards to combo off the avatar's "must be blocked" ability (Tolarian Entrancer, Vedalken Ghoul, Neko Te, Dread Specter, The Wretched, and to some extent Sickle Reaper).
- search/tutors (to get to the Drelnoch, obv)
- counterspells (to protect the Drelnoch)
There are 17 sources of mana in the deck if you include the fetch lands, the creatures will be thinned out in no time due to Glimpse you only need a dark ritual and two sources to cast Mortal Combat leaving you 14 other sources of mana for the Skullclamp or other win conditions.
If you don’t think this will win you can substitute the Skullclamp with Chalice of the Void.
I'm glad my small suggestion helped. You definitely have a knack for designing unusual decks and win cons. As always it is a scary proposition challenging you. That last deck is hilarious. Cycling ftw :D
And secondly I love your idea of one big set after the MEDs of all the "leftover" cards that aren't online
I'm such a sucker for bad carsd that I'd probably buy 4 to get a playset of each! :p
also, consider the 'enters the battlefield' rather than 'when you cast'
Thats a very nice Wurm indeed
Eight of the top ten cards that "fell" (in %) aren't even available online. I dunno, that feels sloppy. Regardless, thanks for these lists as always.

Thanks for confirming everyone's opinion of you, I guess...
Tarmogoyf eat your heart out.
Don’t worry, you’re still eligible for the FABULOUS PRIZE.
PS, this time I got 104 Omnaths not counting foils.
Hey, just the guy who bought 100+ Evangels for .10 and then got death threats over it. Who's laughing now?
i read "prioporception" or something and i was like "hrmm... UW allies section it is!" good read from that point on

It did have Mortal Combat to start with but it changed so much during play testing that I ended up taking it out.
I thought I'd add it in the article as it was the original deck that I was going to use, sometimes evolution takes its own course.

I believe those are actually the Evs per pack. So you can expect to average 2 tickets worth of cards per Zen pack.
I'm wondering where you're getting the pack price data. 2 tix for a ZEN pack? Or did I read that wrong?
Tbh I liked the article from the deck down.. I almost skipped reading, but glad I at least moved onto the list

I admit I have stolen the Sliver + Rebels + Changelings idea and made a bad (but fun) tribal wars deck with it. Thanks for pointing that out to me.
How exactly are you going to play the equip cost of skullclamp, if the only mana you have is for casting mortal combat?
Funny thread on the mull first bug.

Firstly I'm greatly enjoying this series!
