Well, yes, you could stretch the meaning of "under used" to mean just about anything you want it to mean. For example, I could say that Jund in under used in Standard, because I might have the opinion that it should be more dominant than it currently is. So I shouldn't really put much weight in that phrase. However you proposed it like a guessing game, and that piqued my interest and made me think of the phrase "under used" as a clue in that game.
http://jamuraa.com/pure/deck_new.php that is the link to the deck builder. Its what everyone uses to make those deck boxes. Also (pic=Cardname) is a good way for pictures as it just throws up a card image wherever you put it. Im still experimenting myself but those are a few tips.
ArchGenius: well amongst those ramblings you did get it right, but I still won't tell lol perhaps the definition of "underused" is the same as that for "casual" lol
Cruel: the rules for tribal wars classic are really simple, I think I covered it at the beginning, but I'll restate it real quick. First your deck must be built with 1/3 of the deck being the same creature type so in a 60 card deck that means u need 20 creatures of the same type. Second the deck cannot have a sideboard. And third you must follow the B&R as given to us by Wizards
Anon: I haven't seen anyone be unhappy about wrath effects, but I'm sure there is always someone.. had someone the other day who was outraged that i was running counterspells in a tribal deck.. I try to run a few board sweepers if I can, but with all the kill in this deck it eventually will thin your opponent's creature base
I've been playing a black white spirits deck with Zuberas and Ghost Council and Nether Traitors. In this deck I tend to run 2 wrath and 3 damnation. Is there a consensus opinion on playing wrath effects in tribal? It just seems like such a strong effect when you know at least 1/3 of your opponents deck is creatures. Something about wrathing 2-4 Zuberas just feels dirty...
Which if anyone is interested, Zuberas is a wonderful tribe to build.
Thanks for the suggestion. Your right, it can be a little confusing at times. Unfortunately I am still trying to figure out the editor, and haven't figured out how to insert pictures yet. I already pretty much wrote the next article, but hopefully I'll be able to figure it out by the third one.
Oh yeah, if any writers out there want to help with formatting issues or inserting pics, I would appreciate it!
I have been reading about these tribal tournaments and have been getting intrigued by them. How do you build a tribal based deck? And if I was to play I would be the person that would use one of the under used decks. The ooze deck could be fun.
An under used tribe in both RG and GB, I would say that Shaman and Insects make the top of my list. However I've piloted both of them to 3-0 finishes in the tribal apocalypse events, so they are not that under used.
Barbarians and non-blue wizards are other possibilities.
Goblins, Spirits, Elementals, and Beasts fit the colors but they are definitely not under used.
Rogues could also work as an under used tribe in those colors as long as you're skipping blue.
Avatars are definitely under used and also quite a challenge as they have very few cheap members, so that would be my guess.
Thanks - I have two more things I am planning, but am open to more suggestions.
First - providing the cost for the highlighted deck.
Second - providing a two trend charts, one for the PE and one for the overall Classic Pauper tournament scene. Still working on a meaningful way to display this, so it might be a couple weeks away.
Hey deluxe, really found the list great as an entry point for me into pauper. It was fun to play, pretty straightforward in the beginning with nice synergies and tricks once you get to know the deck. I was a little unsure about the boarding plans though so maybe you can list them?
Paul: Yea I've never jumped into Warriors outside of mono-black because they have always been easy.. and the Axe has made them quite brutal, but I loved the black option since we got Gatekeeper
Shard: Yes it's a very old report... I wrote up the tourney reports weeks before I finished the article and then the article has been sitting submitted for 2-3 weeks before it was published so it is a bit dusty lol
me: Yes 4 copies would be probably a better choice, but there are 3 because I only own 3 tbh
Flippers: I've gotten him into play a couple times, but usually when he hits the game is pretty well over any ways, he could very well be dropped for the fourth Korlash, which probably would be much more beneficial
A picture every few turns would be nice, it would bulk out the article and save us from trying to remember the board position purely from written instructions.
Great stuff! My only regret is that I didn't play those weeks mentioned ;)
The breakdown is awesome and very clear. The Zombie deck looks nice - I've run into it twice now, but it wasn't piloted very well. Nice to see a strategy that doesn't roll-over to Prismatic Strands.
Again - really liked this - With articles like this - people can JUST START playing knowledgeable pauper matches out of the gates. I'd recommend making this a monthly installment....
Yes JustSin you did cover it in the beginning don't know how I missed it. Anyway really good read and I think I am gonna give it a try.
I really enjoy reading your articles on the count of the fact that they are rich and written in admirable passion. Keep up the good work.
Cool man, thanks for the tip!

And, yes I do like to ramble....

I think the key to the ooze deck is using borderposts.
Borderposts have synergy with both Manaplasm and Bloodhall Ooze, and they can be used to feed Pyrokinesis.

You can play as many Wrath effects as you like in tribal I've seen people play with four of each Damnation and Wrath of God.

Yeah, that was kind of my thought process. I'm glad I got mine a while back when I noticed it trending solidly upward. Definitely a fun card.

Ooze is tough...Or I fail at building/playing them. :)
I have been reading about these tribal tournaments and have been getting intrigued by them. How do you build a tribal based deck? And if I was to play I would be the person that would use one of the under used decks. The ooze deck could be fun.
I forgot about the Ooze deck. That would also fit the category of under used deck that could be RG or GB.
Manaplasm is fun with pitch spells.
Nice job, Mike. Seriously, this is awesome.

Thanks for the comments!
I have to say this was a vast improvement over the former, I thought the improvement would be gradual, but this was quite the jump, great stuff
I'm not sure if Kalitas, Bloodchief of Ghet is worth the trouble, have you had the chance to cast him yet?
Why 3 korlash instead of 4? extras are rarely a bad thing and he seems like the best finisher in the deck.
A picture every few turns would be nice, it would bulk out the article and save us from trying to remember the board position purely from written instructions.
Have I missed something?
