well in my personal opinion 90% of complaints get so hyperbole'd in order to draw attention to themselves that they end up being utter BS in the end...(example: people were already saying legacy was going to fail because a PE on easter day didnt fire)
thanks for toeing the company bullshit, hamtastic. but the truth is that the reason urza's saga is only available for two weeks is so people will enter tournaments instead as their only means of getting cards. and as we know, playing in tournaments is considerably more costly than buying boosters by themselves. wotc has not once thought of the customer above the bottom line, and they certainly won't be starting now.
i'm just surprised they haven't make it illegal to trade/sell urza's saga singles on bots (to keep the game unique and exciting no doubt).
I have now been having fun in the casual room with tribal, my decks havent won but I don't mind. I built a GR ooze deck that is fun but doesn't win and than I built a BR wizard deck, I don't know what you guys feel about combos in this format but Magus of the Coffers and Umbral Mantle with a Banefire can really be nasty. The only decks I have really have faced are elves and spirits, elves are just so damn fast its ridiculous.
Ummm... this is axactly why no one ever suggestions cracking packs. but when you draft you have to add in the EV of winning prize pacs, whic is the only reason any packs get cracked online.
What I can't understand is why people continue to fire off M10 queues when it's the lowest at 6.33 and not even as fun as ala, and zen.
Hey man! Awesome to see you here! :D Glad to hear you're getting into both paper and MTGO. Both are great, but in very different ways. :p
(for those who missed it... Trey above this post is the person who spawned the email question. He's an awesome guy and I'm extremely happy to have him in my paper community and as an addition to our MTGO community!)
I've found recently that I've been noticing the art on cards more often because of how much it has progressed in recent years, but your articles nicely reflect on the great art styles that can be found in older sets.
Ever since playing allies at the Worldwake release I have been in love with them. I currently have a UW allies deck but it falls short of being good. Against sub par decks it rocks. Against more tuned decks it fails. I just recently discovered the power of the Akoum Battlesinger. Although the UWR version seems fast, I would think that the 2 for one power of the Naya version with the Bloodbraid elf would be a lot better, inceasing you overall chances of beating jund. I am gonna have to test both versions and see wich I like better. These decks may also come down to a person play style as well.
I'm sure that he found out that mtgo limited is a very unforgiving environment, and that it is indeed a tough place to learn the ropes. But the advantage of being able to play it when he isn't able to make it into the store for events is undeniable.
I also think he will be doing his best to get into his local store and invest as well, because we all know magic is best played amongst friends and like-minded individuals.
im totally crushing my 4322 saga drafts, but hate to hear the value is tanking. i think in the long run the money is still going to be there, i mean think about the fact that mtgo is going to be around for a looong time, right? well im hoping so, well anyway, in 2 or 3 years when urza block is not as prevelent it will rise again,
The pack table is still confusing. Why does one column say "Pack Price" when it is actually the single pack EV? The logical extension of the table which I haven't seen anyone mention yet is that you can sell every pack listed to a bot for more than it's EV (with the possible exception of EX), so you are better off selling your unopened packs and just buying the singles you need with the proceeds.
Wow, hope you keep this sort of article coming on a regular basis. The layout of your deck lists section is great for comparing lists from one another.
You could do the same thing with a bounce land and amulet of vigor. Oh wait no...youd need 4 to flip. :/ bah...anyway turn 2 isn't THAT important unless you are facing goblins or maybe elves.
I know this is a week late, but this was the most hilarious piece I recall reading in my life. Glad I found it.
I for one will say that M10 has been my favorite set to draft. Probably because its not as hard to learn. To each his own, but I loathed drafting ALA
That...Makes perfect sense, right? Right?
Come on, man. Give the makers of the game we love a LITTLE more credit then THAT.

That makes really no sense. The first part is a little cynical but plausible but the rest is just nonsense.

Josh doesn't this seem like a good reason to block Anonymous posting?

Thanks for the nice mention!
I also really enjoyed this article, and look forward to more in the future in this vein.
Look forward to reading more from you.
Why not a snakes deck? I have one is and it's good once it gets going. It is extended though.
Why is it at 15 tix? This isnt MVW or some other old school packs.

Please please please keep writing them!
Didn't the april fools day episode count as #59?
I just got this deck a few days ago and LOVE IT! Thanks for sharing it.
I'd like to ask the same question as "Anonymous".
"Do you mind posting sideboard plans for the major decks: storm, goblins, rdw, ub teachings, mono blue, mono black? thanks."
This would be really appreciated :-)
Thanks,
- Tom
