While no MUCFae in the form we've seen over the last few weeks made top 8, a list very similar to old skool MUC packing Spellstutter and Pestermite did make it. Just food for thought.
I don't understand the bottom "No Mirror" row of the chart. Shouldn't the total wins and total losses be reduced by the same number? (a mirror match will always count as both a win and a loss for that archetype)
I dont know Im in an area with a large amount of Wi-Fi so unless the entire city block went out I could easily walk 20 feet to the coffee shop and use their wi-fi. So this situation is mostly relegated to individual circumstances I suppose.
Wouldn't your router and modem be out of commission as well, making a laptop a tenuous solution?
Power generator is clearly the sideboard tech he needed.
mine lasts about 2-3 hours...though he was able to sign in rather quickly. He said it was only out for ten minutes, hence a laptop being the perfect answer.
Hey I have a very similar deck that I use in zen block, and the essential card you are missing in your deck is ob nixilis. The dude is a badass and with oracle and Jace out it is almost unfair the life loss he can cause when you bring him out.
Appeasement is one of those cards where if the conditions are right to use it, you are probably already winning. I know Lord erman made a deck a while back using the card as well. But good for you for trying to abuse a card that would otherwise get no love.
My pet deck is the Lord of Tresserhorn deck I wrote about in my second column. I may come back to that hit soon. The deck doctor idea sounds interesting, I will work on Kaervek soon.
Awesome read. This is literally a refreshing read...as it's 30 min before my first alt/pdc event, and I'm gonna be lining up the shots of tequilla. Not to sound like 'drinking is cool' but it sure makes for a great evening of gaming when you have a nice drink or three...more than that, and I tend to skip my own upkeep and make a mess of things.
you know if you ever wanted to do a deck doctor or something you could use this deck...

B/R mostly stealing and saccing things. It does fair to adequate. Though impressively would be keeping it on a budget right now the whole thing has cost 5 tix. Though I would be willing to probably spend up to 25 more on it. lol
if you have a specialplaceinyourheart pet deck, which never gets scrapped, only modified since the dawn of time.
i have one and one day im going to write about it.
Glad you guys liked the article. All the cards you guys mention are worth considering. Like I said there are a lot of options with this type of deck. The decks I show are really meant to be jumping off points and it seems like you guys get that. Let me know if you all want to see something specific in the future.
I notice that when I drink and play MTGO I usually miss a ton of triggers, and end up watching Sportscenter. I would also cause delays because I was "thinking" or passing out. Fun article.
Gratuitous violence indeed. Tutored that up with diabolic, and swung in HARD in one of the games, not to mention using oros to sweep anything else under 7.
indeed, many G/B(W) are essentially "Here be GoodStuff" concoctions, but many people like that playstyle.
me too.
and to mainstream the deck further, here are a few cards i'd have included:
Vesuva - obvious coffers combo, plus legendary Land destruction.
Primal Command - creature Tutor and nonland destruction? Sign me up. and even life, if yxou need it.
Plague Boiler - also known als Planeswalker boiler
Heart of the Wild - call the big 'uns!

The power was only out for about ten minutes, just enough time to keep my hopes up as I tried to log back online. Power generator tech is key.
rith the dragon that is..

Not too sure how good your battery is, but mine certainly wouldn't last even half of a PE.
lol, glad you kept the "unrecorded" part.
Moral 2 of the story...BUY A LAPTOP! lol, but in all seriousness, laptops are kinda awesome when power goes out.

Who ran that deck... i hear he's awesome.
I'd like to see a rith token deck as well

"That's a 2-0 win so two more shots!"
-- Good one. =) Way to reward the people who actually read rather than skim.

Aliens is still one of my favorite movies.
