I've rebuilt the deck, and can confirm that Wall of Reverence and Pelakka Wurm are fantastic additions. The Wall especially has won me a couple of games I'd otherwise have lost. Oh, and landing a kicked Rite on the Pelakka is just good times all round. Here's what I'm running now (the landbase may look odd - I've got too many citp tapped lands atm I think):
I agree with you about the Clique. The deck titled Excalibur on thesource is pretty sick using Cliques and Stoneforges. I've been testing it for a few weeks and it is the better option imo. Although, I think New Horizons is overall the better list of all those mentioned. Then again, I'm biased lol.
Correct me if I am wrong but doesn't an ID mean the match didn't happen and you don't exchange points at all? Am I mistaken? (It's been almost a decade since I last competed in anything constructed irl.)
Hey Impin, nice stuff and good lists in NH-mylast has Kira+Baneslayer with Noble to accel and ease up non basic base- and Mossivo's BantAggro( he now calls it uwg tempo still a bad name, but it is improving). Sorry I do not have the patience to do the choose your own adv and write up a page of the decision tree.
I have been testing Bant Aggro with wastelands+Vials and included a Mystic package for equips and it is not too good here. Mainly due to how tight the list is and all the spells in there require off colors while Ponder is needed sorely for openers. The manabase of that deck is horrible and it needs another land(fetch) in there, though Ponder and Noble smooth that out some.
I am not sold on Clique in this list either, while good against control i find them weak vs aggro and even worse w/o equips. RWM is soo good(not many decks race exalted lifelink) should probably go to some extra in board. One thing this deck can do well is against Merfolk you never have to play a 2nd Trop/Tundra after they waste yours mitigating islandwalk alpha strike, it is perfectly capable of going basic forest/plains/noble and just play Prides,Tarmo,KotR. And with Noble out RWM is also castable w/o islands.I have done this a few times to the dismay of Merfolk pilots.
Calavera recently placed with his Bant Aggro with Vials has the Mystic equips package, sort of resembles my Classic Bant aggro list(all these Bant decks lists are just Noble Fish lists but Legacy tuned , to me anyway). The Vialing in of Stoneforge is just absurdly abusable even more so when Tarmo,KotR and RWM wear your equips.
You aren't the first to suggest Pelakka Wurm. I agree he would be awesome, but Im worried about drawing hands of three lands with all Mnemonic, Rite, Pelakka and Emrakuls. It seems like overfilling the top-end. Though to be honest the mnemonic wall seems to be one of the weaker cards. So maybe one of those and one of say ponder for two wurms may work.
Stangnabbit druid! You took the strategy I was going to use! I'm still not sure exactly where I'm going to go as far as deck-building, but I'm sure I'll have something fun to mess around with!
Scratch that... I have a pool that I'm not too sure about... decided to just go and open up an Urza's Legacy sealed pack and use what's inside. Altogether, it doesn't seem too good to me, though.
The problems with air creatures is tough but Im content to wait till M11 and simply sideboard in some plummets. 1G...destroy target creature with flying? dont mind if i do.
Some suggested side cards. As mentioned Consume the Meek. Shrivel, and Vendetta might work well. Also M11 will be getting Corrupt back. I would prbably run that over Consume Spirit.
Also as mentioned, splashing red might just be that much better alowing for a more diverse side board, and opens you up for more board control with spells like Earthquake, Volcanic Fallout, and Chain Reaction. The latter being more mana intensive in which case removing a few of the swamps and adding Mistvein Borderpost would be helpful as a cheap option.
After reading the article and pricing the deck I was very excited to try it. I went home and right away purchased the cards to build the deck. MTGO traders bots didnt have enough Rites. Only three. I added one plains and one wall of omens and it still worked fine. I as well replaced the See Beyonds with Sea Gate Oracle. After playing a bit I did find some issue the air battles. I could do nothing but maybe kick a Rite targetting thier flier to create blockers. I removed two of the oracles for 2 Wall of Reverence. Not only did they help the air battles, but they also provided some much needed life I sometimes needed to stay alive.
I removed 2 forest and 1 island for 2 Reliquary Towers and 1 Plains.
This option still leaves the deck budget friendly.
When I get the 4th rite, I will probably then just run 2 Oracles and 2 Wall of Reverence, leaving the rest of the deck stock, and of course the mana changes.
Well Bushwhacker has been a staple in most Storm's sideboards since the card came out, but I don't think I've ever seen it maindecked. It has its advantages but also many drawbacks. Storm generally sides it in when playing against a deck that likely isn't running instant speed token wipe or the rare situation where Grapeshot is a less certain win condition like against WW.
It's a crime that no one is rating these articles. They have added a much-needed archetype analysis to Pure's Limited offerings.
I would like to see UB levelers, R/x tokens (people seem to be building around Raid Bombardment?), maybe something about GB tokens and how to play Bloodthrone Vampire.
Yeah, that card is a great idea. I also like the new ACT OF TREASON, switching from uncommon to common, may be a great sb option in future decklists for red mages.
Thanks Jeff. I may be revisiting the archetype post M11 and/or Scars, since it's so cheap to invest into right now.
Just a forewarning, my Warp World isn't your average Warp World. It's going more for the fun/Timmy factor than the win/Spike factor. Let's just say my "Triggered Abilities" window size caused quite a few players to concede immediately upon sight.
Thanks for the nice comments Desmondlll! Yes, flyers can be a problem, and it sounds like you've got some good ideas to shore the deck up a bit. In the main I try to keep my decks fairly budget friendly, so didn't suggest Jace, but he's obviously a big improvement over any other card draw (and just about any other card). And you're right, adding white gives you some great sideboard options for the aggro matchup, but remember you're already fairly secure on the ground.
I don't know what's worse: The fact that I caught on to the opening paragraph so fast, or the fact that I heard Weird Al's voice BEFORE Don Mclean's... Oh well XD
Anyway, good article, and the discard archetype's looking to improve in M11 with that new 1B Megrim. Looking forward to comparing notes on Warp World XD
Have you ever considered Soul's Fire for the Kiln Fiend deck? Not only would it buff the kiln fiend itself and give 4 damage automatically, but couple it with a delayed Rift Bolt or possibly a Fireblast, it could be quite devastating in the right situations.
4 Evolving Wilds
4 Forest
1 Halimar Depths
6 Island
1 Oran-Rief
1 Plains
1 Reliquary Tower
4 Seaside Citadel
1 Sunpetal Grove
4 Acidic Slime
1 Emrakul
4 Joraga Treespeaker
2 Mnemonic Wall
4 Ondu Giant
4 Overgrown Battlement
1 Pelakka Wurm
4 Sea Gate Oracle
3 Wall of Reverence
4 Mind Spring
2 Ponder
4 Rite of Replication
Slightly better against flyers, and fast decks like burn now, thanks to Wall of Rev, and the lifegain. Thanks for all the suggestions.

He returns to your hand at a cost of life which directly pumps the shadow.
isn't the Shadow black?
and Crovax pumps white guys?
what am i missing?

Just a thought about the trouble with fliers. Windstorm for a million seems pretty good :-)
Also, Pelakka Wurm seems like it would be pretty good as another win condition. Thirty-five life and five 7/7 tramplers? Yes, please!

What about Nacrolepsy??

One should good. The deck draws like crazy once it gets going.
After reading the article and pricing the deck I was very excited to try it. I went home and right away purchased the cards to build the deck. MTGO traders bots didnt have enough Rites. Only three. I removed 2 forest and 1 island for 2 Reliquary Towers and 1 Plains.
I am actually rethinking the manabase altogether.
Here is what I am thinking.
3 Fieldmist Borderpost
3 Wildfield Borderpost
2 Reiquary tower
2 Plains
7 Island
7 Forest
This option still leaves the deck budget friendly.
When I get the 4th rite, I will probably then just run 2 Oracles and 2 Wall of Reverence, leaving the rest of the deck stock, and of course the mana changes.
Aren't giant trigger windows the only proper way to play Warp World?
Nice. Can't wait then. :D

Then we're on the same page :)
Arc Runner looks pretty nasty too
