not into slaves at all.
i was being "facetious" with my format/decklist.
also, that's fine if puremtgo doesn't endorse this format - but there should be some speech restrictions applied. why should there be? without restrictions, free speech can be/is hurtful (e.g., this article). also, puremtgo does endorse formats.. insofar that there are some player-run events in which mtgotraders credits are given away. fortunately, harem is not one of these.
if you named it "women's rights and equality for everyone" that conveys a completely different message from naming the format "harem" and as such, it would offend a different population target. by calling it "harem" you are expressing your opinion. which is fine, however it is antiquated and improper in the current year, 2010. since you are perfectly fine with being offensive and misogynistic with your so-called format, shame on you.
You shouldn't believe it. Puremtgo does not endorse formats. What puremtgo.com endorses is a free thinking community that takes care of its own. I can understand you not wanting to be part of that being into Slaves and all but for most of us it is a blessing as well as a curse.
People who want to be offended and are looking to be offended will be offended. This is basically the same message I posted in response to the first article I wrote on this. I could have named this format "Womens' Rights and Equality for Everyone" format and people would be offended. I'm not going to spend my time trying to figure out why certain people look for an article to post nasty comments on that could have just chosen not to read in the first place.
I had Oracles in my original UW list, but have since removed them as well. The three casting cost meant I never wanted to play them until at least turn 5 with counter back up.
This past weekend I took 1st at Gameday playing the Sun Titan Control deck and I played with two Courier's capsules. They were excellent the entire day. You could drop them on turn four and still have counter backup. I am rather sad that they will be leaving in October.
I don't really understand how this could be offensive. Even the "Slave Plantation" wouldn't be offensive if not for the name. There are over 10,000 cards out there and this is just one more way to limit certain cards while building decks.
i still oppose this format, but i do endorse another format i like to call The Slave Plantation. let me give you a partial sample decklist:
1 Stronghold Taskmaster
1 Bullwhip
4 Echo Mage
4 Armorer Guildmage
2 Lady Caleria
2 Mesa Enchantress
1 Peacekeeper, etc.
in other words, harem is a terrible format. i can't believe a website like puremtgo.com endorses the format - after all, it has published this article as if it's something that they want to appeal to their customers. equality for all. harem is an offensive format.
Well, at least you can play WoW with her! I tried to get my wife to try magic, to try wow, to try anything that I like to do and she refuses. The things I do that I don't want her to try (like extreme mountain biking) are the things she wants to try and gets offended that I don't bring her along.

fa·ce·tious
/fəˈsiʃəs/ Show Spelled[fuh-see-shuhs] Show IPA
–adjective
1.
not meant to be taken seriously or literally: a facetious remark.
2.
amusing; humorous.
3.
lacking serious intent; concerned with something nonessential, amusing, or frivolous: a facetious person.
Pretty much what I was going for with the first definition.
Nice article and cool deck. I'm a fan of anything with Lich in it.
I've been tinkering with a similar deck running Lich and have a few possible suggestions that I've found helpful in my build.
Since you're mono black and running tutelage, why no Nantuko Shade? At 2cc you wouldn't take much from revealing it with tutelage, plus it can act as a second finisher with its ability to get huge late. Also, Brittle Effigy just seems better than Executioner's Capsule (same cc and can remove any unshroudy creature). Finally a very good equipment that works well with your deck is Sigil of Distinction. Equipping it late onto a Nighthawk for 4+ is AMAZING. Plus the low cc makes it ideal with tutelage.
Just some suggestions! Thanks for the great article.
"This game's dumb, you're a nerd, I'm gonna go finish leveling my warrior alt so our guild can finally get a decent tank for ICC25 so we can stop pugging!"
The example was for dramatic effect. I got snarky, but I wasn't that bad >.<
I can be one of those people, but what are we if not for our flaws. Regardless, I stand by my opinion of the Comment section, and the UI layout, and the TP room, and fish. I don't like fish.
So correct me if I skimmed over something, but you never drew more than 2 cards off the Tutelage right? Personally, I'd rather just play 4x Sign in Blood and call it good. Cheaper CMC and you get the 2 cards when you need them at a fixed cost.
But maybe I'm just jaded by the fact the only time I've seen a Tutelage played was by an opponent at 5 desperate to draw into an answer. He didn't... the Tutelage killed him.
Oh you are one of THOSE people. Listen when someone is nasty because you did some thing wrong, the best thing to do is just cop to it and move on. Getting nasty back serves no one. Particularly since it was your own lack of observation that started it rolling. (Who doesn't know about the comments section? They were there in 2.5.) Yeah yeah the punk was asking for a tongue lashing etc but really you are better than that. Be the semi Pro you want to be. [/end admonishment]
As far as the TP goes, it is a more finicky (Not less ironically) cas cas room. I rarely go there because if I need to test for something I ask friends for help and play closed matches.
4 (Grixis Slavedriver)
4 (Bullwhip)
4 (Slave of Bolas)
4 (Enslave)
4 (Slavering Nulls) :D
4 (Enslaved Scout)

I think women don't play magic for the reason my gf doesn't: she says I'm way to "into" it to get involved.

Not going to lie, I was wondering the same thing. Gl with the QPs.
Maybe you should look up the definition of facetiousness first.
paul you should adjust the Facetiousness filter on your computer. Its right by the sense of humor controls.

Surprised to not see the new Elixir of Immortality in this deck.
To quote my wife:
"This game's dumb, you're a nerd, I'm gonna go finish leveling my warrior alt so our guild can finally get a decent tank for ICC25 so we can stop pugging!"
o.O
I don't really much to say about the article except....4.0, dude I'm still waiting for 3.0 to get fixed.
I really just wanted to say. That is the coolest PIC ever! Nice kitty.
I seriously doubt THIS is why. Really.
Grilled Salmon with Miso = to die for imho. My Dad does it great.
And people wonder why more women dont play magic...
