Although I have never posted (before now) I have been a constant reader and follower of Erik and this site. This is such sad news - to go so young is sad enough but leave behind a wife and young child makes it even more heart wrenching.
I cry with you today.
I wish I could find the words to express my sense of loss and the profound sympathy I feel for the Friborg family.
I want to hope and dream that things will be alright, but the void we are feeling will not be filled.
I want to understand, but know that sometimes life is just this way.
But most of all I want to do something. I want to rejoice in the memories, I want to make sure that someday a child grows up and makes his father proud. That he knows about all the people Erik touched through his remarkable life.
I to have never met him, but followed his writing and podcast. And each friday State of the Program was a highlight. So when i saw the news here i got a lump in my throat. So sad when someone passes away to early. Hope for the best for his family. Rest in peace Erik.
This is such a hard thing to swallow, Erik will be truly missed and the mtgo community has lost one of the great ones. Thoughts and prayers go out to his family.
While I didn't always agree with Hamtastic, he very passionate and truly loved magic. I will miss reading the value updates on the State of the Program. This is a loss for the MTG community.
I just know Hamtastic from his execllent work on the site, and still I feel like I was punched in the gut. He will be missed and my heart goes out to his family.
I never met Hamtastic, and never had the chance to play with him on MTGO, but he will still sorely be missed. He was the reason I started reading PureMTGO, and I will definitely miss him and his articles. I wish his family well.
This is very sad news indeed. Erik inspired me to write for this site, and I always had plans to make the trip upstate to visit his store some day. He will truly be missed and my prayers go out to his family.
I just want to send my prayers to Erik's family and all of the lives he touched. I remember chatting with him in /join BBS and even in v3. He really was a great guy. And he will be sorely missed.
Although I never really got to know Hamtastic well, I felt like i knew him. I have been reading his articles, and listening to his podcast for a few years now.
When i heard him on the podcast i could just tell he was a good man.
To his family and the mtgo communtiy I give my sincere condolences. Hamtastic will be greatly missed.
While I never had the pleasure to meet Erik in person, we chatted regularly about everything MTGO; he was a kind and considerate soul and an important part of the MTGO community. Our thoughts and prayers go to his friends and family in these difficult hours.
Erik was one of those people who make the world move, not by position or major happenstance, but by pure effort. Magic wasn't just this thing he turned on and off, it was a community that was significantly enlarged by his work. We're all lessened by this tragedy and I hope his family feels the support of our love and prayers.
A wonderful tribute to a wonderful man.

Never met the dude, but I always looked forward to his posts. RIP.
I am so shocked, so sad. My condolences to his family.

Very sad :(
It was really fun meeting Erik at the first community cup, and his articles were my favorite.
My heart goes out to his family.
Wow, a really sad day. My heart goes out to his family. I never met him, but his contributions were great. He will be missed.
What a terrible thing to happen. Rest in Peace, Erik.
I came to MTGOTraders and was like "YES!!! Content on Sunday!" Well... not the content I was expecting.
Hope his family pulls through this.

See you on the other side buddy - God bless.
Plejades and the MTGO Academy family
My heart goes out to his family and friends. There are no words that ease the pain of losing someone too soon, and this was way too soon.
Very sad, and way too early it seems. We'll miss his presence here...

Way too young. May his wife and child find the love and support they need to carry on.
