Blood isn't awful, but given Verdict and Grasp, combined with whatever else you want, it's a little clunky. Serrated Arrows is not a bad choice at all and I might have to consider it a little.

Im sure I havent played with MBC as much as Mikey but I do like innocent bloods vs poison. Also, if you can stabilize, serrated arrows is nuts vs them as well.

Not going to miss the top 4

Not going to miss the top 4 creature cards in the format when it finally rotates.

  • Smashing DE's for easy tickets   13 years 39 weeks ago
    LOL

I know what you meant. That's why I say I wouldn't call me the stones:).

    wrench mind and okiba gang

yea, that's pretty much what gives me headaches with storm. I see decays are useful also against infect, that's where storm gets that extra hate. Nice article! Love Pauper:)

    thx for the replies

Gitaxian Probe is the tech, worse come to worse it really helps to smooth out the decision about whether you can allow a turn more to the opponent or not.

The very big problem I faced in the matches is MBC. Its actual maindeck setup id quite tough and it doesn't get softer post sideboard. I don't get from where is that coming from, maybe aggros are not balls down as they used to be.

On the other hand all you really need versus MUC is 10 tokens and 1 duress, I've seen noone saving the counter for the duress:) they tend to shoot at the draw spells or manamorphoses.

As long as MBC stays where it is (which can be too long before some goblins will start slaughtering mono black players) I shall re-think my meta positioning.

When I have time I'll prepare a queue run (a DE I hope!) with the other combo deck. I don't see now why it should have a better play against MBC, but the mechanism is quite different and may be more resilient.

    thanks for the comments!

    Stones

Was more of a general statement about your existence and not necessarily tied to your play skill...

I wouldn't say I'm the stones. I just test MBC a lot! Although I'm still kind of surprised you played with wrench mind and okiba gang... I cut those so long ago and I really haven't ever thought of looking back.

Poison is still a huge problem in the format.

Blippy is also a member here as well as MTGS

    Thank you though, Winter.

I just have to throw in the "Hey, I live on the West coast" caveat to these sometimes. :)

    I need to start paupin'

Would give me DEs to join in these in between periods of durdling around and waiting for new sets and ban lists to take effect.

    Good article, Tyler

And I am pretty sure that Mikey K is just the stones.

    Thanks! I went 2-2

Thanks! I went 2-2 yesterday, but it was my own fault for playing like a huge donk vs poison.

    NICE!!!!!!!!!

I've been telling people that MBC is awesome right now! Congrats on how well you did. Glad to see someone else appreciates MBC.

Totally agree, and that is my goal. Hopefully next event I will be able to get it set up and try it out and avoid the commentary flaws like in round 4 discussing a bad possible play.

This stuff is harder than it looks! Gonna take a while to be a pro, like Whiffy :-)

The person who is planning to run the event has Legacy Tribal at 12 PM EST or so and then another event at 8 PM or so. The proposed time is 5 AM PDT Saturday morning.

    I prefer to hear commentary

I prefer to hear commentary while the game is occuring, versus watching a replay. Replay's tend to lead to slow and dragged out matches as you are trying to convey your every thought before moving onto the next play.
Congratulations on taking Welder to 3-1

    8:30PM

    EST.

I want to do the Eurodrive one because, believe it or not, being a father, a full time employee, and a half-time student means 5:30 PDT (which is when the normal Overdrive! event happens on the West Coast) is quite a stretch for me.

4:30 AM PDT on Saturday is better.

Thanks for the comments everyone. Please do not forget that next week I'll also show you some very nice decks. So I'd suggest you to wait one more week to prepare your ISD Block shopping list. There are at least two decks in next week's article which I'm sure you'll find interesing.

    Westane, Dogfish sounds nice too!

    Thanks again for the comments.

    the pack math

Are you taking into account the packs rewarded for constructed de's and pe's? With that said you consistently put out great content with this series and it's a large part of what keeps me coming back to the site. Keep up the good work!

    The Mana Crypt Song

Dang George don't quit your day job bud. That was the worst song I think I have ever heard "Mana Crypt song".
thought you were gonna get him though with that active mana crypt though.
