Probe is amazing for the deck but the deck doesn't have a great meta-position atm imo.
MBC - tends to hand you your lunch. MBC always had stuff like Echoing and Ninjas, but some of the new removal and cheap reanimation has given MBC more tools to beat up other decks allowing it to play plenty of extra SB hate if it wants to vs storm.
MUC - Blue is back with Cloud of Faeries fuelings Spellstutter Sprites and they play Probes too, which lets them know what to counter.
Oli Ruel's UWB storm - still a contender and can go off as quickly as Storm and can repeatedly go off, plus it has all sorts of hate for TPPS.
The deck is definently weaker compared to a prepared meta (which we have right now) than it was when Khemesis created it or even during its heyday.
Ok so I have searched the internet for a couple hours and can't find any tutorials on how you got the border-less cards like the duel lands you have. Got any links on how I can modify the cards on the mtgo client?
Not sure I go with Maniac...(he was acting under the aegis of the Spanish Crown after all.) But Evil does sound right. And I wonder if anyone really notices anymore.
It's just that he's sitting in Breeding Pool's slot as tenth most expensive card.
Alternatively, if the card is banned in pretty much every format for being too powerful, I'm certainly not going to call him out if he claims to be from Dissension. He can claim to be from Alpha if he wants, and I'll take his word for it.
'What management decided was to analyze two costs: the cost of revamping or replacing all the thousands of coffee machines, and the estimated cost of settling a handful of personal injury lawsuits with cash settlement.'
The other thing Felorin missed was that McD'd coffee cups were also known to basically disintegrate once in a while and it was also ignored when complained about.
The injuries the lady suffered also not reasonable for a cup of hot coffee... I've never suffered third-degree burns from spilling hot coffee on my lap.
I thought the case was ridiculous too, like most people do, until I heard the actual facts of the case.
Coffeemakers don't usually get coffee hot enough to produce third degree burns. But this wasn't an isolated accident with the machine at one McDonalds - their coffeemakers were set up that way throughout the franchise, at the time, all heating the coffee exceptionally, dangerously hot. Nor were they unaware of it until this woman spilled some on herself.
The prosecution managed to get ahold of & produce in court a series of internal memos about the problem with the coffeemakers and discussing whether to do anything to fix it. What management decided was to analyze two costs: the cost of revamping or replacing all the thousands of coffee machines, and the estimated cost of settling a handful of personal injury lawsuits with cash settlements.
Their analysis showed them that it would likely cost them less money overall to pay off a small number of people that got burned by the overheated coffee. So they decided they would rather take the less expensive route even if it meant a few real human beings would get injured. Maximize profits and all that.
I believe the jury used punitive damages to attempt to send a message to McDonalds & other corporations: "If you decide neglecting safety is ok if it increases profits, we will make injuring employees or customers expensive enough for you that you decide to stop doing it".
Whether that was the right approach or the right amount of cash to achieve it, still I can see the point & it's not a case of someone spilling 100 degree coffee on her lap and being greedy or a wimp, nor is it a case of a company being punished for a problem they didn't even know about till after the fact. They deliberately chose a course of action that they fully expected would lead to a few people getting scalded, and they got called out for it.
I liked the article, as I need it for understanding what the best picks are. My NMS draft aren't so succesful... Even if I opened Sword of War and Peace today! (but I ended up losing 2 matches, winning the last). M12 is much more simpler when going down to evaluate cards.
Congrats Zach; enjoyed the article.
CME takes the title!
Seen all your video's with the exception of the Gobo's match up.Will watch that one later today at some point. Well done.
The foils are harder to kick then a crack cocaine addiction. Level 3 evidence with a recent meta-analysis to back that statement up!
Great article! Always good to get a perspective on the deck from an experienced player :)
After the first tourney it was obvious the deck needed some graveyard hate but I never liked Bojuka Bog. The deck usually utilizes all the mana it gets so I was never able to slowroll the land to a point when its ability was needed.
Also wanted to add that Shrivel has been great against Infect decks (besides being awesome vs tokens). It kills a majority of their creatures and/or makes opponents use valuable pump spells to survive during my turn. Best sideboard card so far :)

From this very site under the archives searching for custom in the title section.

Nice and subtly, whiffy pitches his hat into the political arena!!
lol.
How much did Gitaxian Probe improve this deck? It seems really good to me.

Wow Zach, congrats man!!!!

How very Fight Club of them.
you probably could have won the second match of game one if you dropped carnage wurm when the mana was available

Josh, it's because he's the Mind-Sculptor... he's messing with you.

nah, he's totally from dissension, don;t you guys remember him messing up two standards? (My Mistakes, sorry :( )
Haha, I loved the bit where you sing Reading Rainbow.
Admit it. You'll be pissed if he fixes it at this point.
Jace, the Mind Sculptor is *still* not from Dissension.
Wow sign me up for that clan too!
