most packs won, in any format, are used as entry into something, usually draft. Or sold to a BOT that then sells them back to someone to use in a draft.
The Jailer removes ability, snapcaster gives the ability so its a timestamp matters issue. Most cases the Yixlid Jailer will already be in play when the Snapcaster Mage's ability resolves so the target can be flashed back. There will be some rare cases where the Yixlid Jailer enters Play after Snapcaster Mage's ability resolves (aether vial with passed priority I guess....or you simply forget and cast out your own jailer before flashbacking the target so the Jailer's removes the flashback granted by the Snapcaster. So most of the time you can snapcaster flash. If you opponent attacks and chump blocks with a flashed snapcaster (target lightning bolt). Then at the post combat main phase you play Jailer it will move the flashback from the bolt so the snapcaster player cannot bolt the jailer.
Snapcaster grants flashback on top of Jailers ability meaning the Flashback cost should work.
Why FoF over Jace? I mean i know it's instant and Flashback-able, but Jace equals a FoF in 2 turns and beats it in 3 not to mention with a shuffle effect he digs 6 deep in the same span. And when you add the Fateseal and Bounce abilities, It seems like it shouldn't be close.
I Don't know, have you tried it?
I don't ever think going less than 4 corrupt is correct at this point... This deck can stall for so much time to get to 6 land and corrupt is such a powerful spell... I can understand where it might seem like a 6 drop being played as a 4 of in a deck with only 23 land can look dumb.
But trust me. Its a lot more consistent than you might think
Two things -
1-Masques is gonna REALLY shake up pauper (insert evil laugh)
2-Modern is DOA after the bannings - I thought some events would fire...good grief. Is everyone super upset about the bannings? I like modern to continually shake things up...leaving the other formats to grow slower, it's invigorating to see a banned list that big - deckbuilder paradise!
I know Corrupt get's a black mage 'back in it' after losing lots of life...but 4 corrupts seems bad. I'd hate to see this in my opening hand, maybe in my opening 3 hands... It's like adding 40% likelyhood that you're going to mulligan - even if you keep a 7 land hand, if Corrupt is in it, your really at -1 card for 6 turns, and that's IF you don't get land screwed.
UR post is an ok deck - I just find it WAY too slow. Pauper has so many cards - it makes for a VERY fast/aggro metagame. Personally, my deluxered decks VERY favorite matchup is against this. Some decks leave small windows to 'go off' this particular deck leaves barn-door sized holes. I do agree with your curve. Cracks me up when people play 4x mulldrifter - like you want to see on in your opening hand lol...
Hey it's cool everyone has moments but yeah, you used to be the coolest mushroom to joke with. I know one time I got like that but I had swallowed a bunch of food coloring and when the hospital said i was fine i was like wtf because i knew i had dyed a little inside.
Thanks for you awesome classic videos, I'm building an unpowered deck for an upcoming vintage event on my country, and since we still don't have Power 9 on MTGO, your videos are a great source of unpowered decks.
Also, I'm interested in toying around by recording some MTG videos, may I ask what software do you use for recording your matches?
played solar flare at states, went 2-2-1 played pretty well, had an unintentional draw in round three, and then got outplayed in round 5. One of my issues with playing magic now is I get tunnel vision and I missed the play that was correct for the play that I thought was safe.
I'll explain it soon enough. I just had a blast playing.
Have I really gotten that bad? I like to think I'm a fun guy. (you can sub fungi if you like) I guess I'll have to take a personal inventory and see what's up. I really had no clue I was turning into such a grumpy old man.
After reading your response, I looked back at some of my posts over the past month or so, and you're right. I jump salty at the least provocation. I'm antagonistic. I come across a lot more grumpy and negative than I used to, and I'm not really sure why.
Thank you for holding a mirror to my face. I'm not happy with what I see.
I apologize to those I've cheesed off, and will try to improve my attitude.
You can't compare MTGO to Paper, because cards like FOW are much more expensive online, even despite fairly limited demand. Legacy is expensive in either format, but for every cheap card like Candelabra online, you have a Lion's Eye Diamond that is triple the cost.
The Duals could be half that price (and have been) and it doesn't matter since Wasteland and FOW are so expensive.
If you had read my post maybe you'd understand that it's entirely possible for an apple to be an orange-lite, depending on your definitions.
You say Modern and Legacy are NOT similar and then go on to list ways that they are similar. Well done.
If these are the only ones you could come up with maybe you aren't trying hard enough, or don't have enough experience with the formats to reach additional conclusions.
The rest of your post after these points was poorly concluded and gibberish to me.
I like the Sliver idea, I used to build all sorts of non-tribal decks with a soft sliver base of 4x Gemhide Slivers and 4x Harmonic Slivers (back when Extended was, well, Modern). And I like doing either Slivers or Allies in unconventional, non-aggro mode.
really? I used to like you, you were fun but ever since a few months ago all you do know is birch and moan, its obvious here and other places you post. What happened?
That's pretty much what I surmised and seems very cool. I am going to have to get involved in this when it happens (I mean when they announce how they are going to use it).
Yeah Mentor is for teaching new players. I believe you both start with a Jace Beleren avatar in play, which has game-breaking abilities:

Is all you are doing greyes. Black and white color debate? Come on, get real. Is an apple and orange-lite then? Modern and Legacy are NOT similar, unless you lump the fact that they are non-rotating and perhaps they are all Magic the Gathering cards...that must make standard SUPER UPER DUPER classic lite then, right? If that is JXC's opinion, fine, but he is posting this on a public forum. Slanderous comments and negativity only keeps people away and contributes nothing to the game and much like Whiffy's defense of Classic, it's not fair to compare Modern to anything but Modern, it is not over-extended it is not Legacy lite period.
blippythenub, black is not considered a color by a lot of people because of its absence of reflected wavelengths. There is debate to whether or not white and black are technically colors, but in the end it really comes down to how you define the two. Much like how you're probably defining Modern as X and the author is referring to it like Y. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and having spent time playing both formats probably a lot more than you, I would have to agree that the author's "legacy lite" comparison fits perfectly with the point he was trying to convey, and that this ignorance talk of yours is nonsense.
I love Summoning Trap, it is very nice information

Nice one, bro.
