A solid article about a solid deck. RWB has a lot going for it without being the full 5c gamut. I personally love Oros's ability though I hate that it only hits nonwhite creatures.
Oh, in defense of DnT... I play it because I like all the card interactions and it fits my play style. It's not like I've tried every Legacy deck or anything, but playing that one isn't an issue of price or lack of money cards for me. It's a fun deck to play.
I knew I liked you for a reason....
The Red Green show is an amazing Canadian export to my home country (USA!!!). I've laughed countless hours thinking of my father being the main character. Great, great, great!
Oh yeah... a good article too!
Hard to explain. I guess I just feel cheated, like I didn't play a real match. Almost as if I paid 100 bucks for something but only got 75 worth of product.
But that is just my play style I guess. Don't get me wrong, the deck isn't bad, it just isn't my style. I've always leaned more towards the thresh type of play style. I guess enchantress isn't aggro enough for me. Plus I miss my brainstorms lol.
Although I will say lately I've been branching out of my comfort zone. I've been messing around with Dream Halls for quite some time now and was never really a combo type player. So who knows, maybe I'll go give enchantress another shot and like it this time.
I will say this, given the choice between the 3 decks I posted, Enchantress would be the one I would play.
Architects of Will and Glassdust Hulk are both great options, yes - exceptionally cheap cycling. An alternate build could pack 5-6 of these, and a 3rd Open the Vaults - knocking out the Kraj pieces and a couple of Breakthrough to make room. This would give a nice pace and a good strong midgame. Definitely worth experimenting with.
well my warp world is fairly baseline, its just a more budgeted version of the norm...ill stick with artificer's intuition though i dont really have a training ground deck ready yet...so feel free
A lot of these cards that cost too much? Pay $20 and get the dual decks they are in. You actually make money off those. Rancor is four dollars? The Vs. Garruk is $9. That's almost the price of the entire deck right there.
I have all the cards needed for enchantress and I've messed around with it a few times. The problem is that I always felt left with a bad taste in my mouth. Plus I think the deck is not the easiest in the world to pilot. Then again neither is dredge imo. I think dredge might be seen around more because in classic it was also an effective deck, people abused it with Bazaar for quite awhile and when those people heard of the Legacy announcement I'm sure they just transitioned the deck. But in classic there wasn't an enchantress deck obv so less people had those staples when the announcement of legacy was released. That is my explanation at least, not sure if its right, but its a good guess.
Great article, Nik. I really enjoy your writing style and deck ideas. I can still remember the first time you played Hermit Druid + Open the Vaults against me. I immediately bought a play set of Hermit and starting concocting my own brews. The possibilities are pretty much endless.
One of my favorite things to do is to bring back a singleton copy of the 5x Legendary Shrines and a Paradox Haze or two. It gives your opponnent a slight chance (very slight) to come back over a few turns.
Anyone attempting this deck can also consider an alternate build using some artifact cycling creatures such as Architects of Will (may be off color) to dig for combo pieces.
Nice article.
I would like to add a big thanks to Mtgotraders for thier support in prizes for this event. Thanks Heath and thanks gwyned for your great job as Host. - Joe
as a sidenote I never really liked kraj anyways, great fun johnny ability but its such a late game thing most times. Though Training Grounds+Filigree Sages+Kraj+other tap abilitys+heart of khalni+thrive would eventually let you combo off infinitely, but that is far more than 4 combo pieces. lol
Fantastic article as always. I was actually going back to your February articles a few days ago, just to compare and contrast with the current prices. It'll be interesting to see how prices progress as online Legacy becomes established.
lol I think if I ever revisit Unicorns it will be alongside the much better changeling counter parts and more of a focus on Prized
and yes the enchantress deck gets 100% more power with the new aura enchantress and can I say lord? lol when I put this together I was mostly unaware of the new creatures enchant tribal would get

Dreamhalls + Conflux = simplicity itself it seems. Nice break down and encapsulation of the match ups.
right + left click on the card and hold.

How do you zoom in on the cards like you do in your video?
So if I want to rare draft, I should be hitting up ZEN block and Urza's Saga as my top 2 choices?
Agree with most of the abovementioned :) I really enjoyed an original deck idea, well though through.
You mention something about sideboarding for wishes. I would love to see that sometime!
I'm a big fan of this type of creative casual deck, even if the cost gets high. I look forward to reading more of your articles.

Why does enchantress taste bad to you?

There is a classic angel that gives life when a flying creature enters the battlefield. A guy played it in a Commander game that I lost the other day.

Haha - it's all yours. Though I will be doing one on Warp World and Gather Specimens.
And unlike this deck...we really do hardcast both. 8RRRUUU is a real pain to generate.
It's hard to pull off...but stealing all the opposing aggro right out of the warp is hilarious.

Nicely done.
well since you claimed it, ill let you have it. Though I'm calling warp world and artificer's intuition, for future casual fun articles lol.
Nice article.

Indeed comical but likely just completely ineffective. Companies like WotC take a jaundiced view of that sort of behavior.
The more the merrier haha! I'm definitely looking forward to Training Grounds; expect to see it in an upcoming article.
