Just no reason to ever not play brainstorm in a classic deck.

And Erasure is horrible. I get that you want to play around with the drawing synergy, but you are making more of the "I draw lot" than you should. "I draw a lot" synergy should = "I draw good/better cards a lot" that is synergy enough. Every good classic deck has options for mill, particularly cas cas as you should be building for utility. If you aren't playing Leyline of the Void Mill in Classic is an amusing subplot to your opponent beating you. IMHO. There are lots more fun stuff to do with Niv Mizzet than teaming it with Erasure.

Obv you don't attach it to the giant :p You attach it to something that can attack and add the vindicate trigger.

  • Pack to Power - or How to Steal a Thousand Dollars   14 years 35 weeks ago

    Very interesting feedback

I mostly trade with bots and myself have not ripped anyone I am aware of (when I do human trade) off - nor would I try to (do unto others as you would have done to you).

Technically I could be called a Pack To Power person - making over 1000 Tix over 2 months of trades. However considering the time involved, and the fact I write my own software for market anaylsis - I feel it is profit that I have earnt - as opposed to cheating it out of people.

At the same time I have not lost on the odd trade/card. In fact sometimes I loose a fraction on 1 card to gain more and round of a tix on another. Good to see this thread has a lot of discussion from both aspects of trading which is important.

I am a firm believer in treating people fairly in game and trade and respect the strong views from some people by obvious value mismatches above. Granted prices change, as does demand and complexity. A persons time zone alone could result in whenever they are looking for cards in MTGO them cost more (or less) than other timezones - again illustration of supply and demand.

If people are really against buy low/sell high bots that is fine - don't support them. Laws of economics tends to override the pricing from the Supply/Demand effect. Many overpriced selling/ under paying buying bots will struggle to survive and the rental alone could result in a loss simply because no one supports their market scheme.

That would actually result in a tie game as both players would get 10 poison counters at the same time.

  • Conqueror & Commander, Vol. XXX: SOM Overview   14 years 35 weeks ago

You're right. What I meant was that you would not be able to get the Armors Vindicate effect the same turn you search it up with the Giant. Due to having to tap to use it and you only get to Vindicate upon attacking.

    Great,

It's bound to get less terrible the more you work on it.

  • Anything But Special Edition! - Card Advantage (Part 2)   14 years 35 weeks ago

In blue/red, I would also suggest Sokenzan Spellblade, and Aeon Chronicler. He both generates and benefits from card drawing.

No offense but I think you missed my point though I am glad you got the irony.

  • You Ooze You Lose   14 years 35 weeks ago

A protip for the images: You can specify a height or width for an image tag via the style attribute such as style="width:800px". Insert that into the tag in the html. You don't want to specify both height and width though or you risk making the image look stretched/squashed.

  • Conqueror & Commander, Vol. XXX: SOM Overview   14 years 35 weeks ago

Swords to Plowshares, Exile, Unmake, Path to Exile...they don't permanent get rid of him as a commander (because for some reason commanders can't be exiled? not really clear on the reasoning there.) but these cards do take out the hit.

  • Conqueror & Commander, Vol. XXX: SOM Overview   14 years 35 weeks ago

Yeah, Skittles is going to be very popular. Lythand mentioned a couple of good suggestions, and I think you can also go with Runed Halo, Forcefield, and the usual tuck effects (Hallowed Burial, Bant Charm, Spin into Myth, Condemn, etc.). Tuck effects aren't as useful against mono-black due to the high amount of tutors they run though.

Arena of the Ancients can slow him down a little, and Invulnerability can cost a lot, but does the trick. Aurification, Righteous Aura, Faith's Fetters, Arrest, even Pacifism can all help as well. Of course, with the auras, you are going to take a hit first, but you will slow him down a lot.

The excel sheet is not the legal card list the legal card list is at this address:

    http://puremtgo.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=2008&sid=137de5291f317db3...

The excel list is almost complete, but I believe it's missing two cards atm. The list at that address is the definitive list, no matter what the state of any other Heirloom resource or MTGOtraders prices is that list in that thread is absolute and definitive.

The second app I believe has all or might be missing one card. (the recent revision changes to the legal card list are at the end of the preface to the list in the thread) but everything in it is legal atm unless somehow something slipped past my review of it, but I'm fairly sure it's all good.

If an emergency banning is needed (the protocol for that is if a card reaches 5x the cap value between revisions of the list it can be instabanned) the card that is banned as an emergency will still be legal for the next event and only illigal afterward. So again the list at that link is the absolute argbiter and if your cards are on the list you're completely gtg.

Be great to see you agian and give people a chance to unseat the new champion of course, but of course it's understandable when conflicts are present.

I was just showing badmalloc my weak play skills when I forgot to charge my jeweled amulets two turns in a row instep yesterday lol,

Imo, the one thing that people don't understand about Copperhorn Scout is that it gives you access to 8 Vitalize. What deck can use 8 Vitalize you ask? Elfball. Not only does it interact well with Timberwatch, and Priest of Titania, but it also works extremely well with Birchlore Rangers to be able to splash the necessary Blue draw spells that it would require to make this combo work. I think it makes Shared Discovery a HUGE draw spell for this new version of Elfball, because untapping all your elves is the most important thing that Elfball can do. Seriously underrated.

Quick question: Did you win? Because it was so painful to watch that I stopped. It would, however, be poetic justice if you, in fact, won.

  • Heirloom: Beware the Pestermites!   14 years 35 weeks ago

I have a deck! It is terrible but at least I have now purchased one so I shall be around as much as poss to test the pile before next weekend's event.

  • Conqueror & Commander, Vol. XXX: SOM Overview   14 years 35 weeks ago

Here are some cards that can be usefull against Skithiryx

    Phyrexian Splicer
    Gravity Well
    Earthbind
    Downdraft

The splicer probably being the best option.

  • Tribal Apocalypse - All hail the new flesh   14 years 35 weeks ago

you can't be misquoted if I wasn't quoting you lol all I said is we were having a conversation of the competitiveness of byos and tribal, the rest is my opinion on the subject

  • Anything But Special Edition! - Card Advantage (Part 2)   14 years 35 weeks ago

that's just the combo player bias in you

  • You Ooze You Lose   14 years 35 weeks ago

What about Necrotic Ooze equiped with Grafted Exoskeleton, and Crypt rats and Morsalhoarder in the graveyard. Infinit reusable Wrath of God.

  • Heirloom: Beware the Pestermites!   14 years 35 weeks ago

So I want to make sure, the excel sheet that was made for Hierloom is the legal list, not the prices on MTGO Traders? Also, the second app, I want to confirm it only has Hielroom cards in it as well.

  • Tribal Apocalypse - All hail the new flesh   14 years 35 weeks ago

Firstly, booooooooo changelings. BOOOooooOOOooOoOO!!!!! Should be banned..... not real tribe.... stupid mechanic...... rules breaking........Rage taking over!!!!

Secondly, I feel like I'm being misquoted. I feel that tribal should be non-competitive. I love playing my Wall deck. However, when there is a tournament involved, the gloves come off and people should expect me NOT to play an "interesting" tribe.

  • My Experience at the 2010's: Florida   14 years 35 weeks ago

I added all the cards in the Main decks for my two decks and they are ok. The issues for the sideboard ar the fact that No one has linked the cards yet to auto link to articles. It was going to be done yesterday from what I was told, but it is yet to work.
