They'd better not do it for a long time. At least until they fix that "feature" where the new client crashes every time I run it, on my laptop or my desktop machine. Not a nice "exit the program" crash either, but a hard freezeup.
Telling people "Oh we'll switch over to this sometime and discontinue 3.0" while it's still impossible to use for some people is kinda scary. I'd rather they stop saying that publically until they make it at LEAST stable enough to stop crashing.
Well let's say you do go 1-2 in a tournament and don't win any packs. Would you rather lose 4 tickets and GET LITERALLY NOTHING, or would you rather lose 14 tickets and get (rarely more than) 2 tickets' worth of cards? Yes there is the money rare possibility, but how often has that happened to you? One out of every five drafts you enter?
Wow, I never looked closely at Crosis's Attendant (because, why should I?), but that looks like it might have been worth a few lawsuits from Marvel Enterprises.
As Rex Dart said, I agree completely with Bonfire becoming a card to keep in mind, it really did a good job for me with Spellshaper, without it don't think I could have made it. Though I don't think it would drop down to 5 tix range, but who knows, I hope it does so I can get another one (The Devastation Tide should had been another bonfire, but only have 2, and also forgot that Mystical Tutor is banned xD, which was the card it was replaced for)
Thanks for the compliments Kuma, but I feel like Nagarjuna's deck was stronger than mine and I just got lucky. He had to mull down to 5,5 and 4 and in the 3rd game any reanimation spell in the multiple turns he had, would had been game, set and match.
Anyway, good job Kumagoro and RexDart for bringing every week the event report and keeping track of everything(and Blippy too, eventhough you left the Tribal Apocalypse in good hands, you could show up from time to time...).
See you in the pit fight!
Note to people already registering on Gatherling: you don't necessarily need to name your deck if you don't have a meaningful name for it. The system will automatically name your deck according to your colors and tribe. So, for instance, if you registered a Spirit deck that has both white and black cards in it, by leaving the name field blank, the deck will be automatically named "WB Spirit".
Does anyone have the proposed date when ver. 3 is supposed to shut down? And the transition to ver. 4 is supposed to occur? I just gotta know when I need to start preparing.
Good for you. If the bugs annoy you that much you should trade away your collection. I hope you got a fair value for your cards so that you at least end with a positive feeling/experience. MTGO should be fun. However, I am glad that not all players let the bugs get to them so that I still have opponents to play.
How do you "break even" if all they do is pay you in entry tickets for more phantom events? I might as well just play skee-ball for 4 hours and try to win the dirt bike.
Also, pulling a money rare gives you a chance to break even despite losing. If you have to actually WIN to earn any reward, that severely hurts my chances (in anything besides IPA and M11, at least.)
having only recently discovered phantom events, i can vouch for their fun and cost effectiveness. it's actually kind of great not to clutter up your collection after it ends, and not to have to rely on opening a money rare to break even.
My son uses this kind of game. It is the best game for him. - Scott Sohr
Oh, what a good way to play competitive. It is not that good but it will be better if you get to the hang of things. - Scott Sohr
Making a big deck requires a lot of patience. It is not for the short-temper. - Scott Sohr
Finally, someone drew a water serpent that really looks menacing. This is the best water serpent I have seen for quite a while. - Scott Sohr
Those drawings are the best. They are the best. - Scott Sohr
Another best series for this season. Very nice concept for your characters. - O2 Media

The colors are really awesome. But I think switching its colors is good too so the players will not get bored of them. - Carmack Moving and Storage
The coming of gatecrash will always be good to the players. The benefits we can get from it is just awesome. - Carmack Moving and Storage

Bonfire sees zero play outside standard, I can easily see it falling to the 5 tix range
According to the ORCS in chat it isn't decided yet.

So you would be fine if your paycheck this week from work was $100 less than last week, because you only lost potential money, not real money, right?
Cube pays out in a mix of cube tickets and packs, but the other phantom events just pay out in regular packs like any other events.
I do have internet again, yes. Events and articles will resume April 20th.
