I try to read every PureMtgo article and keep abreast of all the magic formats even if I don't play them. I've never really given serious thought to Pauper but after today's common cause I am already deckbrewing.
You forgot the most important words on Viseling- "Each opponent". It was one of the first cards worded for multiplayer, along with barbed wire. these are still some of my favorite cards for commander. Each person takes only 1-2 damage at a time from them so no one wants to commit to killing them.
I have also used the combo of false cure and skyshroud woodcutter to deal 10 damage to each of 5 opponents.
I have no idea. I send a list of names to jam to see if the the bots can get blacklisted, but it rarely helps. I cleaned up almost 200 spam articles today on the back end of the site :/
As far as the Beta is concerned, there is the Wide Open Beta which is open to anybody to install and use as their client, and there is the Closed Beta, which you need to apply for and where you test out card interactions.
Is there a reason that HTML linking can't be disabled in post comments?
The whole point of all this pagerank spam we are getting is to post links to sites, if that function was disabled, there wouldn't be a reason for all the constant spam posts.
For those few comments where people want to send you to a website, it's not that much work to copy and paste a link.
Heirloom could happen with a bit of creative thinking. You make it an introduction to magic tournaments format. First you make packs of everything you want in the format based on cards that are currently cheap. Then you put something desirable in the packs like unhinged lands appearing every so often, alt art cards ect. Then you make the draft have the worst payout by proportion of entry with packs being say 1 tix/dollar each, so maybe 5 tix total fee. You also allow any Heirloom card to be bought in the online store for a fixed price based on rarity to prevent singles from rising above the intended cap (but not the alt art/special versions). Then you again have constructed events with worse payouts than the events that require more investment. The first set would have everything in it with additional sets designed for limited with new special inserts appearing randomly and adding new cards as needed.
I mean its probably too ambitious but it could be done and it would be awesome.
Ive used the Beta that makes me able to play literally in the same world as on current official version3.
No freebies here (I think?), (I see Rerepete mentions one).
Ive also played at a closed Beta("?") where I obviously did not play against the official world of players.
Playing was entirely free, and slower firing queues. Limited formats were warped formats(like Rerepete says), like, 30 percent of cards were from latest limited set with the rest 70 percent being from a myriad of different sets from the previous 5-10 years of mtg existence. Feedback to WotC was done on hidden forums, and frankly, "it was so hidden" that 1) they were hard to find, and 2) I dont entirely trust that users on that forum knew if they could/should respond to each others posts or that only wotc officials were allowed to do that(rarely saw them post at all). I gave that world up entirely, and fast.
Anyhow,
my point with this posting is that there probably is confusion with what BETA MEANS in the wotc driven mtg world.
@Deluxeicoff: Playing on the Beta site is continual free (slow firing) draft/sealed games (usually with beta packs - mish-mash of all cards where about half are from newest set). And for testing around Christmas time, all those who fulfilled the set out requirements got a Theros draft set added to their regular accounts around the new year.
Slovenia-USA is one of the only few matches we actually played in the World Cup, haha (and the most bitter at that, as we were leading 2-0 at the halftime, already expecting to get to the 2nd round with 6 points, only to then allow 2 goals, lose VS England next match and miss the playoffs)
Much appreciated, though I maintain you're definitely good enough to hold your own in this crowd. I wouldn't be on the podium if not for the years of bouncing ideas back and forth with you.
Also yes on being moved. Excellent choice of music and flag, you got both absolutely spot on. I'm not sure how well the current England football team would hold up to the all-conquering Furia Rioja, though. ;)
AJ is finally getting his due for being the premier builder in this crazy format. I wish I had the fortitude and ability to play in the apocalypse but hearing about the exploits of dear friends will have to suffice. :D WTG AJ!
"one of only three people to have played at every single Tribal Apocalypse invitational"
I didn't look into it. The three people are you, me, and Naga?
Great words, by the way. I take this as the equivalent of "AJ_Impy is really moved" :)
Did you appreciate the Union Jack? I wanted to use the St George's Cross (which is also the flag of the city of Genoa, incidentally), but the Union Jack is more scenographic.
And I forgot to mention: if this was the FIFA World Cup, the final matches would have been a classic England-Spain and a more unusual Slovenia-USA.

Yes that was the joke...

Ya =)
Hehe I am sure it is as confusing to WOTC employees as it is to you and me. :p
Beta and Beta the same ?

Kings of the Impossible? What is that all about? I guess that is the thing we need to work on. - Green Water Technologies
Going Golgari is something we need to work on. I guess we all are confused what this is all about. - Green Water Technologies
Being decked out will be very good. I guess that seems to be the thing they have to worry about. - Green Water Technologies
The series has been interesting so far. It is going to be impressive of what they will bring on the table. - Green Water Technologies
The two GPs are really good so far. They can do something to get the job done. - Sandra Dyche
The soap opera is going to be full of drama. Expect a lot of fireworks in that one. - Green Water Technologies
The draft has been interesting. They have made the right choices and they are happy with it so far. - Green Water Technologies

Thanks, yeah, I plan to keep playing.

Yup, we and he are the three.

Glad to see you didn't stay away Miha. Hope to see that you are continuing with the apocalypse now with the unpleasantness of last year behind you.
