I had the opposite feeling while playing it, I thought it was one of the worst sealed formats I have played. I hope that it is like ISD which I was not a fan of in sealed, but was awesome in draft.
A tip that I didn't mention in my last article, but is something I typically do because you never know when dealing with a browser based editor: always write out your article text in an editor program (word processor or text editor) first and save it.
This way if you have problems with the online editor crashing or messing up the code you can reinsert it.
Where it says, "you cycle some your creatures", yes there is supposed to be a "of" before the "your". I had a lot of problems getting the decklist to work, so I had to keep on retying stuff. My apologies.
Also where it says "while he dug through his deck with for", again I am sorry, the with is not supposed to be there.
Just another thing you might want to talk about in risks is how the scar lands rotate out when Return to Ravnica hits this means that a lot of people will be selling these things off at the end of this PTQ season.
So you really can't be holding onto these for too long unless you think they might become staple lands in Modern (which in that case, the end of the Standard PTQ season would be a great time to buy them).
I would not invest in copperline gorge unless you can buy at 2 tix or under, it moves from 2-3.5, people who think theyre good magic players will do everything they can not to play a deck that needs the land (except frites) and so it will never reach it's "natural" value based on the metagame. People don't want to pay full price for it so you have to be profiting when selling at half a tix under at least. I've made some good money off it buying at 1.5 and selling when you can drop it for 2.5+, rinse repeat, but dont expect it to go above 4 ever, and 4 is best case scenario. Its not a bad tool for generating income since it cant really get that low either and such is a safe investment when it bottoms.
The value of cards is based as much on perception of value as it is supply and demand, if it can go in a blue deck it will generally have higher value than the metagame suggests, if it can't it will be lower.
People don't maindeck cage though. Scavenging Ooze is maindecked in the most played deck in the Legacy ques. As a former Dredge player I know which is the reason I'm not playing Dredge now. Every deck always had sideboard options and cage isn't even that good.
That 4/3 Devil is going to make Copperline Gorge and Blackcleave Cliffs more valuable. People are going to want to cast it on turn 1, so they might be running more Scars lands. I also think these lands have staying power in Modern.
The issue with dredge right now is Grafidigger's cage. Yes they can main deck answers to it, but cage gives every deck a turn 1 answer to dredge, and some decks run both leyline and cage.
I do have to agree with some of the other comments though when they say that Wurmcoil Engine probably isn't the best subject matter at this point in time. This article actually would have been perfect around when Mirrodin besieged was released. I remember back then more than a couple of decks were running multiple copies of this instead of just the solitary one-of that seems to be more consistent now. The price was also under 5 tix if I remember correctly, it definitely would have been the time to buy. official pandora website//pandora uk charms//pandora beads sale//pandora bracelets//

I think we all saw the way Erik chose to fight his battle. We saw it on the forums and websites, we heard it on the podcasts, we had it before our eyes with everything he did for the Magic community. Dredge isn't dead but now isn't a good time for it.* Common wisdom has always been Dredge is good in Legacy whenever graveyard hate is low. Typically that applied to the sideboard and how much people were scared of losing to Dredge (and other graveyard strategies); now unfortunately for Dredge the most played deck online is Maverick which plays maindeck tutorable graveyard hate. If a large portion of the time Dredge has to actually fight for a game 1 victory it's not a good deck to be playing.
*At least Slow Dredge. If you can afford 4x Lion's Eye Diamond, Lion's Eye Diamond/All-In-Combo Dredge is sold but one of the reasons Dredge was popular online was it was a budget deck in the MTGO economy.
Good points and thanks for the additional insight.
Regarding the accuracy of the index over time - it is my intention to keep them up to date with the latest. So WS30 will be "the top 30 tourney cards that show price movements in the standard format as a whole." If 10 new cards fit that description then I will remove the 10 that least do and add the 10 that more accurately do. To ensure the overall price of the index isn't affected by the changing of constituents I will modify the divisor to ensure price parity with any change. Hope that makes sense! The Dow does the same thing (only probably far less often)...
I totally agree with you on the timing item, and I will admit timing is a weak spot for me. So I love the fact that folks comment and help me with this. I will try to incorporate best I can in future articles but your comments are appreciated in helping further strategize on timing.
I hear you, but I'm personally not aiming towards drastic measures to chastise Elf decks. Elves are a popular and iconic tribe, and players who like them have all the rights to do so and play with them as much as they can. If they will find different wincons, good for them. It's seeing the same two or three ones that's annoying. Killing the mana lords is part of the job of playing against Elves, like killing any key tribal creature is when playing against every other tribe. I'm not sure Elves will be so heavily played if their only strenght was the ability to generate lots of mana, dump your entire hand, and swing. They would be played, but a little less, hopefully. That's the goal: just a little less is fine.
"Percentage of elf decks that include Ezuri, Renegade Leader: 47.3%"

I didn't know you knew how to write. I thought you only knew how to work sound editing/recording software.
Now all I have to do is learn how to read.
Great stuff.
Avacyn Restored is insane. Played 5 sealed flights in 3 days.
Best set ever. But I think I need sleep.

I really enjoy these reports, thanks again.
Legacy is different from classic though. Ooze isnt maindecked that often in Classic, so dredge is a bit stronger.

Hey, I was wondering how the playtesting of your DimirDelver deck panned out? Any fine tunings and changes?
finally found time to listen, great stuff and loved the interview questions.. it was def a card that had me going "wow what were they thinking?"
looking forward to next week's and hopefully there is an epic one in review of the ham event

Rav Shocks would be perfect for the set, but I don't really think they could put in one without putting in all of them.
They could also be going with lands that have mention of MTG story in them, so places like Rishidan Port, Eye of Ugin, Academy Ruins, both Blinkmoth/Inkmoth Nexus, Urborg Tomb of Yawgmoth, etc.mens pandora bracelet//pandora baby charm//pandora cupcake charm//pandora men//

Coral Atoll won't work, since it requires that an untapped island be bounced.
Intersting how the rules changes can make a combo deck much more fair. Good stuff.

Glad to hear you like the analysis. Just for you I might have my next article on some other index constituents! Let me think about it.
Thanks Splendid - I will have to do an article revealing how my picks ended up in a few months to see if my analysis is accurate.
