I did pretty well with Scars/Besieged/Phyrexia drafts when they were relatively new, but I had a similar experience as you when I went back and tried to draft a few games after having been out of it for a few months. Almost every game I would either get mana flooded or mana screwed, and I found the drafts full of painful choices and colors that ended up being open when I'd gone in a different direction. It was like the shuffler was telling me it was time to move on. That said, you really did waffle a bit here and made some odd picks.
Wow, thanks WOTC, I don't think anyone can complain about this years celebration! My problem is what do I do with foils? In general I don't like them and have that effect turned off in client. But with this haul, I think I can learn to cope :)
Gerry T wrote an article about the breach/goryo deck. said it was the most powerful thing you could be doing in Modern. Seems better in Legacy, where people don't play Spell Snare or Mana Leak...and there are better and more abundant reanimation spells. Show and Tell > Through the Breach
BTW- RDW winner is a type 2 deck with Shard Volley...lol. Funny how many well built type 2 decks do well at your events.
I like the Goryo's Breach deck. I played against a similar deck except it ran Fury of the Horde.
Turn 1: Faithless Looting, Discard Griselbrand
Turn 2: Goryo's Vengeance, attack with Griselbrand draw a ton of cards, cast two Fury of the Horde removing 4 red cards, Turn 2 kill
Pretty cool stuff but I imagine that deck is a little more consistent.
Yeah, I'm changing my vote to the time-based free stuff. 2003 account, so all the PDS, the foil booster and the unhinged land. I can see why they didn't announce it earlier, as the account needs to have been logged in this year.
And then they announced today: Spellslinging on Saturday and again the Friday after that. So yay! :D Keep in mind the prizes are being restricted to one per player per session but still the competition should be pretty fun to watch/be in.
never even thought of using that card, it makes so much sense! Ty for the insight. I am off to get insightful, right after hours of playing with all my new free cards
Thanks guys. Wolverine, I dunno how I missed that! Good puns you two.
The price differences don't seem that big, maybe the request is low.. masini
The video was pretty good but your gameplay kind of sucked. But I am sure you will get better! masini
This stuff looks good, can't wait to get one deck jocurid
but the title would have been better if it was "Last Dance with Mirro-din" sung with a Tom Petty reference in there...lol
Hmm, Interesting combination but I don't know how well will this work. jocri jocuri hd
This seem like great decks and can't wait for Yokohama. joculete jocuri
Worlfire seems kind of overpowered, but I can think of situation were you might get burned for using it. jocuri jocuri online

Someone at Wizards must be telepathic, because I got a Premium Deck Set: Slivers in my collection today! So happy!

Sadly for me, I just picked up some Entombs a few weeks ago. Wish I had waited.

Yeah, I managed to get quite the pull once I consolidated all the stuff onto my main account. Well played, Wizards.
