I really enjoy playing this deck but I'm wondering about the choice of Duress versus Goblins. Are you merely doing that to pump up the storm count? I ask because it doesn't seem like Goblins decks have too many non-land non-creature cards. I came up against the MUC faerie deck a few times and it seems like as long as you are smart you can still win with this deck.
I think Vicious Shadows definitely should be in the deck, with Warp World being right behind it. My only misgiving about Warp is the mana cost. But I can't believe I forgot Shadows.
I been playing this card alot lately. I use it alot in mono green in multi room and in my sigarda edh deck. I like it more in my mono green becuase it shines brighter. I use 4 surge and the rest are all permanants. Druid's repository makes for a decent ramp with viridain emisary and predator ooze as attackers. Craterhoof is a staple using this card as Dana mentioned. Fun card though, I always like gambling cards, thats why my favorite classic deck is still Draco explosion.
Well, I found a couple of bots that would give me a ticket for my Legions and Scourge pack, and about 2 and a half for my Onslaught, but I paid in 7 tix for 4 and a half tix of prizes after going 3-0. >_<
Primal Surge is great - I have it in my Animar Deck, and it has a total of two non-permanents, Primal Surge and Personal Tutor. The only issue with the card is that, as a general rule, I found it to be way too predictable and therefore boring. I have at worst a one-in-fifty chance for each card drawn to end the game, basically. The rest of the deck is ramp creatures and uber-fatties. With Animar, the uptap creatures (Peregrine Drake and Great Whale, for instance) and cloning creatures work to give me the ability to cast the spell out faster, and draw creatures get me the spell when Personal Tutor grabs it from the deck.
I 3-0'd my first Cube Swiss and found out that I earned less than the 7 tix I paid in. Know anywhere I can get more than 1 tix for each pack? >_< I know Onslaught costs more than Legions and Scourge, but I've yet to find a bot that will pay ME double for it.
The only change I would suggest on the sealed pool:
-1 Chandra’s Fury (bring it in if you see a good amount of tokens)
+1 Arm's Dealer
Arn's Dealer is a boss and does give you a body if needed to attack or as a blocker then kill sac. He is also much easier to get the mana. He also might give you enough reason to bring that Rummaging Goblin in and sort through mid to late game land draws.
Chandra's Fury is great in the token wars. If you see a heavy green or white presence in your opponent's list (or both) then Chandra's Fury is good to bring in for game 2/3.
Something also to note: possibly for the first time in MTGO history, going 2-1 in swiss actually pays less than going 1-2 (Onslaught pack is worth more than Legions and Scourge combined).
65536/65536. :)
I talked about it in the Encyclopedia of Fatties. The setup was:
6 Forests
1 Deserted Temple
1 Gaea's Cradle
1 Mana Reflection
1 Birds of Paradise
1 Avenger of Zendikar dropped the previous turn creating 8 Plant tokens
1 Chameleon Colossus
Tap Gaea for 22 mana, untap it with Temple for other 22 (43 total with Temple activation), tap Birds for 2 (45 total), tap 6 Forests for 12 (57 total). Activate the Colossus 14 times.
And then, the Colossus got exiled (and not even with StP!) in the Begin Attack phase. :)

Terrifyingly you did well (compared to what people are buying at for the most part).

I vote for a spam filter on PureMTGO, any seconds?
Great article as always, by the way. :)

Nice impression of deck sketches.

I have just read through a worthy game post.

i hope you are right about this.
Nope. Sadly Wizards has screwed their playerbase (more than normal) this cube season. You can win an 8-4 and it's hard to break even.
I can confirm that Heirloom is very cool and fun. Glad this article helped to make you aware of it. Hope you can find the time to come play sometime.
Excellent budget article. These are my types of articles as well. I believe you've rekindled the writing spirit in me good sir.

I didnt knew this format, but it seems pretty cool and fun, i will see if i can get some time to play it.

This is an interesting blog post of graveyard creatures.

Yes, this is amazing. If you're 1-1 in the last round, it's a race to right-click, concede imo.
I BELIEVE there were 7th drafts in the last 5 or so years.
It did not impress ofc, b/c 7th was like 10-15 cards and then 200+ trash.
I would love to have sanctioned Standard Pauper. All of your arguments are solid and definitely reflect my thoughts.

Have they ever done an old core set draft?
