In addition to the Community Cup, there's another really awesome event being run right now: the Vintage Super League. It's a round robin tournament of some of the best current pros, old Hall of Famers, and Vintage specialists hosted by Randy Buehler. The current roster is EFro, Josh Utter-Leyton, Tom Martell, David Williams, Rich Shay (The Atog Lord), Stephen Menendian (Smmenen), LSV, Bob Maher, Chris Pikula, and Randy himself. Season 1 is in full swing, entering the 4th week. Weeks 1 & 2 along with the preview show and decklists are on twitch.tv/randybuehler while week 3 and subsequent are on the big channel, twitch.tv/magic. The show airs on Tuesdays 7pm PST (10pm EST). If you're a fan of, or even just mildly interested in, Vintage Magic I highly recommend checking it out.
Ever since I saw a rakshasa on Night Stalker I've wanted to see a Magic card with a rakshasa on it.
This ain't it. I'm disappointed that it turned out to be a "cat demon."
Paul is right. These guys are shapechangers and they are a lot cooler than stupid cat demons.

I thought about taking the Tern (or the Pegasus) for the reasons you mention i.e., sending signals. My logic with the shield was it keeps me open, and I've used it successfully in the past. In this deck it was underwhelming. Thanks for the tip r.e., the Pridemate.
I thought P1p1 should have been to pick the Welkin Tern over the shield. Passing that strong card (the only blue in your pack as well) sent a strong signal that blue was open. And picking Ajani's Pridemate should have had you valuing life gain strategies (most of which are in white and black)higher.
Nice article :). I can relate to your story, and the frustration that comes with doing well in a local setting but feeling unable to catch a break in a more competitive tournament.
I'm always looking for testing partners online. My username is "tikipanda" if you want to add me (same for my twitch name btw).
Well I have more than 1 account and there have been times that I either didn't want to play in the mocs (like the legacy mocs) or simply couldn't play it. Some of those I played enough to get more than 15 QPs so it was nice to get 2 or more promos.
If you don't want the cards from limited events in your main account then why not use your storage account for playing limited events instead? You then only need to transfer the smaller number of cards you want to retain back to your main account.
Not a big surprise, WotC just posted that they will be changing the prize payout on those events as of this upcoming Wednesday to just match the other dailies. This works out to a higher overall prize value, so people are probably just waiting for that to kick in.
I think you can select multiple rows in the list view using CTRL-A or right-clicking someplace that is *not* a row in the list (such as the white space below the last row being displayed). Sorry I don't remember which, its been over a month since I learned this with the help of someone in the support room chat.
It still gets the D rating. Try dragging what you selected to your trade binder. Last I checked, it didn't drag all of each card selected.
Videos are working fine now, deck is hilarious.
I thought for sure that I changed them back to public. Should be good to go now, thank you!
I have a new modem so hopefully I won't drop out next Overdrive!

this card is very good, I'm excited to see it, and think it will see a good amount of play.
Cheers Paul, this article was already completed before our last conversation, next time, Gadget! next time!
Glad to see you writing regularly again Flips. As I said before, I wish you'd decorate your deck lists a bit but over very nice job. (As I expect.)
It does hit Force of Will :)
Mesmeric Orb + Sidisi, Brood Tyrant in modern could be a thing.

Sorry about your dog! Pops lost his oldest dog a couple years back, it's a tough time to go through. :/
At least in "Doggie Heaven", Bailey will be surrounded by happy games. :)
Thanks for the kind words Paul. This article was a long time in the making, so I'm glad you enjoyed it.
Frankie, you've stepped up your game and really impressed me with this article. Keep up the great work! :D
Thanks for the feedback, I will be adding you. I am always trying to build better decks on MTGO to rival what I have in paper.

yeah I agree with that.
Which is actually pretty dumb of wizards not to track mocs points against the owner rather than the user name.
mocs points do not trade, which is the only reason I could think of.
