Though I suppose without context it would have made little sense.
That post by JBK was pure awesome - it was like watching firecrackers go off in the sky while logic, reasoning and common sense sat and watched from the distance...
Looks like your tech got a mention on Prolepsis9's article on Star City: "I lose to a Bant fish deck – his Stifles don't seem too impressive against the field, but then again, they're good against me."
Looks like my round one of the last event was a bit of an extra hurdle being against this event's champ. Plated Geopede did me in when I couldn't find any early removal for it. Anyway I really enjoy these events, I've spent some of my time online drafting but I still like building heirloom decks more than most things. I'll probably give my madness deck one more try before moving onto something else. This article is really good as they always are. Youre a natural media man mr. Olaw.
I was the U/G deck jarunik faced in the second round. His deck certainly was well-built and kinda of a pain. I was able to pull out a win during our match, but his burn kept me from keeping any creatures in play long enough to make them threatening
Great article also. I wish I had more time to play in the various PRE's that are offered anymore.
I'm really glad people enjoy my articles and was very pleased to be the featured article today. I shall try and continue to keep providing articles and improving their content.
Also, congratulations on your win in this event and thanks for the content you provided for this article.
Yeah, it sure is a shame that Heirloom clashes with BYOS. However, I think the two Saturdays, one Sunday cycle was a little difficult for some to understand or commit to, and made our turnouts fluctuate quite a lot. Sunday was the day of the choice in the end, but hopefully some day we will see the return of Lord Erman to Heirloom.
I am considering writing a tourney report with the deck as well, but for this article I wanted to simply introduce the deck. Adding a recap of 4 matches would have added considerably to the length of the article, and I wanted to get it out before it sat for too long, in order to get some more exposure for classic to go with the YSO podcast. Thanks for the constructive criticism, and stay tuned!
Dont get me wrong I did enjoy the article and it is great to hear from a classic active player who is regularly in the money slots with a "rogue" build I cant help feeling that the article could have been so so much better. You proudly state an impressive record:-
"Using this deck, I have participated in 9 Classic Daily events and one Classic Premier event. The deck has put up great results, with three 4-0s, three 3-1s, and 3rd place in the PE." Nrk - Mar 21 2011
I would love to have had some actual discussion of these 9 events, which decks you actually faced, which plays you actually made. I feel this was a missed opportunity for a totally awesome article as it reads it was still fun and informative.
Thanks for writing.

ive given up on this format, seems skill-less
Good stuff. I was thinking about doing something similar at some point, but you beat me to it. And you got funnier pictures than I would have.

Very useful, thanks. Maybe a second part about mana fixing on a budget beyond lands would be nice too!
Nice to see an interview in the mix.
Another very good read, thanks Olaw for all your hard work! Nice to have you with us.
I thought i did a good read, but I definitly missed something. sorry for that then :p
Thanks again for this detailed tournament report. :-)
Thanks a ton Jarunik!

I just wanted to say how useful this article will be for those who can't afford the really expensive cards.
And LOurs, if you read the article, he specifically states that this is for those on a budget, and references the article you mention.
Did you read it before posting? Specifically THE FIRST LINE?
no offense to your good work, but take a look to that excellent but older article :

Xaoslegend used to apoint Heirloom Media Award Winners.
I think everyone agrees that you earned this title with your good coverage of the Player Run Events !
Congratulations and keep the information flowing.
I'm so sad that you guys moved the tournament to Sunday. I know I'm missing a lot of fun but I have my priorities :(.
Go go WU Control!!!

I've just noticed I forgot to include this graph to the left of the mana-curve one:
Next time I'll do better. ;)
not a conspiracy. I started to delete them all after he attacked me with homophobic hate speech.
